Wordless Wednesday – Banquette 3 Months Later

laternook2Well, it has been three months since I built my family’s board & batten nook bench, originally seenĀ here, and my little guys couldn’t love it more, which in turn makes me ecstatic! So nice to see all my hard work being enjoyed! Though, I have to admit, white may not have been the wisest choice with two little ones climbing all over it… which I knew, but the crisp white was just so purty! I found and refinished two dining chairs since the build, but have yet to find a reasonably priced upholsterer to make the cushions since a seamstress I am not! I would also love to make a more substantial & less decorative back rest the length of the wall… someday, hehe! Hope to have a completely finished ‘after’ photo soon!

Happy Wednesday to y’all!

Guys, your nook is great! I have a question about the cushion, (I am in the middle of the same project myself and a comfy sitting custom cushion is a concern). Have you had yours done? if yes, what is the filling material? I’m afraid store-bought foam might be too soft…

Hi there! I have yet to make our cushions, but I imagine I’ll be using a high-density foam (firmer & lasts much longer than low density) wrapped in cotton batting followed by a kid-proof acrylic or polyester. Hope I can get around to that project soon, hehe! Good luck with yours! I’d love to see it when you’re finished!! :D
